Editorial context
Working with a provider in Austin – what matters
When selecting a property management company in Austin, first establish the type of management required. Managing a homeowners association involves shared finances, amenities, and administrative processes; it is not the same as letting or individually managing an apartment. Since RowCal’s Austin page specifically describes HOA management, prospective clients should explain their community structure and required scope of services at the outset.
Clear responsibilities make proposals easier to compare. Which tasks belong to the dedicated community manager, which are handled by specialist support teams, and which remain with the board? Budget preparation, assessment billing, monthly reporting, and reserve planning should be defined alongside any additional charges. Communities with pools, gates, or extensive common areas should discuss maintenance schedules, vendor oversight, and records of completed work.
The management transition also warrants attention. An orderly handover of financial records, contracts, and homeowner information, together with clear instructions about account access and payments, can help prevent confusion. For digital portals, establish who can access which documents and what support is available to people who do not use the portal.
Finally, clarify availability, response times, and procedures for urgent maintenance issues in writing. RowCal describes digital tools, a Care Team, and after-hours maintenance emergency support. The important question is which services are included in the specific proposal. These points provide operational context and are not legal advice.

I want to give a special thank-you to Monique, the manager at Greenwood Tower. I moved to Austin only four days ago, and the beginning was quite stressful because there were several issues with my apartment due to some miscommunication between the leasing platform and the owner. Monique was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful from the very beginning. She walked me through everything step by step and helped me get settled. Without her help, I honestly would not even have known how to access my room properly or arrange parking for my car. When my shower needed to be repaired and the water for the whole building had to be temporarily shut off, she handled the request very quickly and patiently. She communicated back and forth with the owner, helped confirm the water shutoff time, and made the whole process much easier for me. What impressed me most is that she truly cares about the res
If I could give this management company 0 stars I would. Rowcal has made me absolutely hate the neighborhood I live in. And I can’t get out of the home I have lived in for 20 years quick enough. Here’s what doesn’t matter to them: junk cars being parked in front of homes for months on end (5 in front of one house). 4-5 foot tall weeds and grass up and down 3/4 of a mile of the road. (Since March and it’s now June) When you call the city, they say it’s the hoa’s responsibility but when you call the hoa, they say it’s the city’s responsibility. Our HOA transferred in January 2024 and no welcome documents were received. I had no ability to log in or create an account because I needed an account number to do so. Many other residents complained about the same issue on our neighborhood Facebook page. I called for several weeks to get log in information but always received a recording. So I ev
I’ve experienced a few different HOAs in my time, most of them were disorganized, the management didn’t care to hear about our frustrations, or just didn’t do anything positive for their home owners. RowCal has to be one of the best HOAs I’ve been apart of and I want to especially give a special thanks to Melissa. She is very sweet and caring and actually takes time out of her day to make me feel heard and like I have a voice. Any questions I have she always has a straight answer and I never feel like nothing has gotten accomplished or progressed when I get off the phone. Thank you RowCal for caring for your home owners!
I want to take a moment to recognize how much I appreciate Janice Sampson. She has truly been a breath of fresh air for our community. Even before our official start date, she has gone above and beyond to ensure our transition from Goodwin to RowCal has been as smooth and seamless as possible. Janice is always friendly, approachable, and genuinely cares about the people she works with. She takes tremendous pride in her work, and it shows in every interaction. She is responsive, proactive, and never hesitates to step in and help wherever it's needed. Rather than simply doing the minimum, she consistently goes the extra mile to make sure questions are answered, concerns are addressed, and nothing falls through the cracks. Her positive attitude, professionalism, and dedication have already made a lasting impression on our Board and our community. We are incredibly grateful for all of her
