Editorial context
Working with a provider in Houston – what matters
When choosing a property manager in Houston, owners should first establish whether their property and its location fit the provider’s service scope. Real Property Management Preferred describes a focus on residential rental properties in Greater Houston. Before appointing the company, owners should therefore confirm that their address and property type are covered and identify which services are included in the management agreement.
For leasing, important considerations include a transparent rental pricing assessment, marketing channels and documented applicant screening criteria. Since the provider lists these services and move-in condition documentation, prospective clients should ask about procedures, responsibilities and reporting. They should also establish who prepares leases and how owners receive updates on vacancies and new tenancies.
For ongoing management, maintenance and cost control deserve particular attention. Clear arrangements should specify when repairs require approval, how outside contractors are appointed and how matters are handled outside normal business hours. Owners should check which records and status updates are actually available through the advertised portal.
Before signing, it is also advisable to obtain a written breakdown of management, leasing and additional charges. Tenant payment fees should be clarified separately. The supplied review selection includes a critical comment on this issue, but it does not replace current fee information. For evictions, the scope of service, involvement of outside parties and additional costs should be discussed explicitly. These points provide practical context rather than legal advice.

Selected reviews on Google
The supplied selection of Google reviews mainly concerns leasing and move-in experiences. Reviewers repeatedly praise Jay’s responsiveness, prompt answers and clear guidance. Another review highlights Nelly’s listening and communication when handling a complaint about outside contractors; the issue was still awaiting resolution when that review was written. One review raises concerns about paperwork and procedures perceived as complicated, as well as additional charges for the available rent payment methods, reportedly including payments through a linked bank account. This summary reflects a selection rather than all 3,328 Google reviews. The supplied overall rating is 4.7 out of 5.
My husband and I worked with Jay B. throughout our leasing process and we couldn't have asked for a better support. Jay is very thorough, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed to be setup for success, including promptly answering any questions we had along the way. RPM, you have a wonderful employee in Jay - please take good care of him. Jay, thank you, and we wish you all the best. 🙏🏼❤️
Jay provided outstanding customer service from start to finish. He was extremely helpful, professional, and kind throughout the entire process. Anytime I had a question, he responded right away and made sure I understood everything. He was always patient and willing to help, which made the experience smooth and stress-free. I truly appreciate all of his support and would highly recommend working with Jay. Thank you for the excellent service!
Nelly is GREAT! She contacted me back in a very timely manner. She listened to my concerns with out trying to over talk me or dismiss them, she made me feel like she understood where I was coming from and would work her hardest to resolve my issue. She reviewed the documentations with me and explained to me that the workers that came to my house were actually venders and not Real Management employees and that she would contact them on behalf to have the issue resolved. If I could give Miss Nelly more stars I would just based on her communication and people skills.TY VERY MUCH MISS NELLY! Hope to hear from you soon to resolve this issue.
We recently worked with Real Property Management during our leasing process. Jay has been very helpful and responsive, and we truly appreciate his support throughout the steps. One area that could make the experience even smoother is simplifying some of the paperwork and procedures. The process felt a bit more complicated than expected. Regarding monthly rental payments, there are many options available, which is convenient. However, it seems that every payment method comes with an additional fee. I understand that using a credit card usually involves a processing fee, but I was surprised that even linking a bank account still includes an extra charge. It would be helpful if there were at least one fee‑free option for tenants. Overall, we appreciate the assistance we received, and I hope these suggestions can help improve the experience for future tenants.
Hello, The Move in process was excellent! I had the pleasure of working with Jay as my coordinator, he helped step by step, asked Questions and he made sure I was up to date on every detail of the property. He connected me with a realtor making sure I could see the property and made sure to fix anything that I was to see wrong. Wonderful service.
