Editorial context
Working with a provider in Philadelphia – what matters
When appointing a property manager in Philadelphia, owners should first establish which responsibilities they want the company to assume. JG Real Estate’s documented activities include leasing, management and buyer and seller representation. An offer should describe these areas separately so that responsibilities, fees and any additional assignments are clear. Providing several services does not, by itself, establish which tasks are included in an ongoing management fee.
Maintenance arrangements are an important consideration. The selected JG reviews describe routine repairs, an evening water leak on a weekend and a flooring installation project. Prospective clients should therefore ask about reporting channels, emergency classification, spending approval limits and records of completed work. It is also useful to agree who obtains quotes and oversees larger projects.
Communication deserves attention as well: Who is the designated contact, how are outstanding issues tracked, and what updates do owners and tenants receive? The supplied reviews illustrate that positive experiences with individual technicians can coexist with criticism of general communication.
Before deciding, owners should also clarify reporting and accounting frequency, contract duration, termination terms and, where relevant, the distinction between management and brokerage assignments. These are general selection criteria, not statements about JG’s actual contractual terms. Reviewing them helps establish expectations but does not replace an individual legal review.

The supplied Google data shows 3.8 out of 5 stars from 377 reviews. In the provided selection, reviewers repeatedly praise individual maintenance staff for their helpfulness, explanations and repair follow-up. Several accounts mention prompt scheduling or assistance; one describes an evening emergency response on a weekend. Another praises the coordination of a flooring installation, including advice on selections and attention to the budget. Critical points include broken items at move-in and, in one review, slow communication, a tone perceived as dismissive and unanswered questions about water usage. That critical review also praises a technician. These reviews are a selection, not a complete or representative assessment of all feedback.
We had a great experience with John Buonadonna our project manager from JG property management from start to finish with installing luxury vinyl floors at our house. He answered all our questions, gave great selections to choose from and checked in numerous times during the project. He handled everything with ease and that made the whole experience stress free. I am grateful for John taking the time to make sure we picked the right color and size for the space! An added bonus is that he worked the project to fit our budget!
Unfortunately, upon moving in, I had a few issues with broken items in my apartment. However, I’ve had a great experience with JG Real Estate’s maintenance team, especially Orlando. He is extremely dedicated to his job and has gone above and beyond to make sure everything is properly fixed and usable. He has scheduled multiple visits to thoroughly address each issue and has always taken the time to make sure everything is taken care of. I really appreciate his hard work, attention to detail, and commitment to making sure the apartment is in good condition. JG is lucky to have a great maintenance team!
I needed to call the emergency maintenance line for a leak. Miguel responded quickly on a weekend in the evening! He took care of the problem right away and got me set up to receive further maintenance the following day during business hours. Miguel made sure my apartment was safe to be in going forward which was my number 1 priority. He put my mind at ease with his thorough job assessing/managing the problem with a very positive attitude! Thank you so much Miguel!
First of all, Orlando is beyond helpful and kind, and did a great job fixing multiple issues, correcting past work done by JG, and creating follow up tickets for future work to be done. JG is lucky to have someone like Orlando at their company. However, in the few years I have rented a property managed by JG, communication is often slow and their tone dismissive. We recently had a toilet run for a week while we were out of town, and got hit with a $500 water bill. Sucks, but it happens. Since Philly has smart water meters now, I wanted to figure out how I could setup alerts similar to PGW and PECO where I get periodic usage messages, and alerts when my usage spikes. The attached photos are my conversation with JG, I think they speak for themself. Ultimately they left me on read repeatedly, and completely disregarded any suggestions I made. It’s been a week, and I am still waiting on
Orlando is an insanely great technician, he was super friendly and knowledgeable about things. He fixed a broken drawer so much faster than I thought it would take and explained everything in detail and was also just very personable! JG was very quick with scheduling to get my issue sorted, but by far Orlando made the process of getting something repaired (which can typically be a nightmare) super easy! He deserves only the best because that’s all he gives!
