Editorial context
Working with a provider in London – what matters
When appointing an estate agent in London, owners should first establish which services are included in the proposed instruction. For the sales and lettings activities documented at Foxtons London Bridge, useful comparison points include the valuation basis, marketing, viewing arrangements and communication throughout the transaction. A valuation should come with a clear explanation; a suggested asking price is not the same as the price ultimately achieved.
As the branch lists several neighbourhoods in SE1 and SE16, prospective clients should ask about experience with comparable properties in the relevant local market. For flats and new-build homes, buyers should review available property documents, ongoing costs and the proposed timetable. For the advertised short lets, the rental period, included services and any additional charges should be clarified beforehand.
Sellers and landlords should request written explanations of fees, contract duration, termination terms and optional services. Named contacts, cover arrangements and an agreed update schedule also matter. Prospective tenants should allow enough time to review documents and resolve questions about responsibilities and payments before signing a shared tenancy.
Google reviews can offer insights into communication and support, but do not represent every instruction. The supplied selection includes positive experiences and one critical account. Independent professional advice is appropriate for legal questions about sale or tenancy contracts; this overview is not legal advice.

Selected reviews on Google
The supplied Google data records 4.6 out of 5 from 888 reviews. In the selection of five reviews, four praise responsiveness, clear communication and active support during a purchase, sale or rental. Recurring themes include prompt replies, regular updates and following up outstanding steps with the parties involved. The critical review instead describes pressure to sign a tenancy agreement quickly, an uncommunicated staff departure and what the reviewers considered inadequate support with problems in a joint tenancy. That review is supplied only as an excerpt. This summary reflects a selection of individual experiences, not a comprehensive analysis of all reviews.
We recently purchased a property with Rebecca Egbers and as first time buyers she was so helpful! She supported us with getting things moving when we needed support to chase things. She always responded to our messages quickly and was really helpful in answering our questions and organising for all the conditions of sale to be completed before exchange. With her support we went from offer to exchange in 2 and 1/2 months! Definitely a great experience for buying our first home.
It was an absolute nightmare of an experience. Purely profit-driven with zero business ethics. Overseas students, stay away! Before we signed the tenancy agreement, Foxtons repeatedly pressured us to make a quick decision, claiming the property would soon be taken. One of the prospective tenants was still in China without a UK visa, yet Foxtons continued to push for the tenancy agreement to be signed quickly. Once Foxtons secured their commission, the manager handling our case departed, but no one informed us. We only discovered this after the other tenant stopped paying rent and we urgently needed agency assistance. The other tenant later claimed her visa was rejected, that she remained in China, and that Foxtons had also pressured her to sign. Under the joint tenancy agreement, the financial burden fell entirely on us. Instead of helping resolve the issue with the missing tenant, a
We had an excellent experience with Foxtons London Bridge and, in particular, Rebecca Egbers, who recently sold our apartment in Canada Water. Rebecca was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. She communicated clearly with us as sellers, the buyer, and both sets of conveyancers, making sure everyone stayed informed and that the sale kept moving to time. Her responsiveness and proactive approach made a real positive difference. We would happily recommend Rebecca and the Foxtons team.
I recently rented and moved into a new home through Foxtons, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. A special thank you to Lulu, who was incredibly helpful, professional, and supportive throughout the entire process. Moving house can be stressful, but Lulu made everything smooth and straightforward. She was always available to answer my questions, kept me updated at every stage, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled efficiently. Her friendly attitude and excellent customer service made a real difference.
I've been delighted with the service I've received from Foxtons in London Bridge in selling a flat in a difficult market. Carley Taylor and Gabor Szucsik were excellent. They found a buyer quickly and kept fully on top of everything throughout the entire process. Carley gave me regular weekly updates and was very proactive in chasing items (outside her control!) that were drifting. She kept everything on track and really did go the extra mile to ensure that the sale went through smoothly and in a timely fashion. I am very grateful for their helpful, friendly and professional service.

Services in this field explained
A valuation estimates the price a property can achieve on the market, based on location, condition, size, fittings and comparable sales.
What does a valuation cost? Many agents offer an initial estimate free of charge. A formal market value report by a certified surveyor is paid; the fee depends on the property and effort.
When you sell, an agent handles valuation, exposé, viewings, negotiation and the notary appointment.
Who pays the agent's commission? When flats and single-family houses are sold to consumers, the commission is generally split between seller and buyer (§ 656c German Civil Code).
When letting, an agent takes care of listing, viewings, tenant selection and the tenancy agreement.
Who pays the agent when letting? Since 2015 the “orderer pays” principle applies to residential lettings: usually the landlord pays when they hired the agent.
