Editorial context

Working with a provider in San Diego – what matters

When choosing a property management company in San Diego, first establish whether you need management for an entire association or for an individual rental unit. The documented focus of The Prescott Companies is HOA and condominium community management. Its real estate offering also describes connecting clients with professionals; this does not automatically establish a particular scope of directly delivered leasing services.

Associations should compare their requirements with the proposed service package in writing. For the listed financial solutions, useful questions concern reporting formats, responsibilities and approval processes. For ongoing and on-demand maintenance, important comparison points include the definition of routine tasks, the appointment of outside contractors and the treatment of additional costs. For technology solutions, clarify access permissions, data availability and communication channels.

Day-to-day support also warrants specific discussion: Who is responsible for the community, how is backup coverage arranged, and what response times will be agreed? The supplied review selection describes differing experiences with responsiveness. It therefore provides topics for targeted questions rather than a reliable prediction for every management assignment.

Because several regional divisions are listed, confirm which office would handle the property. Proposals are easier to compare when base fees, additional services, maintenance scope and handover arrangements are described separately. These points provide general guidance and do not replace a legal review of a contract.

Selected reviews on Google

The supplied selection contains four five-star reviews and one one-star review. Recurring positive themes include prompt, clear responses and attentive, professional support from individual employees. Examples concern parking permit coordination and assistance during an HOA board meeting. One reviewer praises a newly assigned manager and describes frequent staff turnover as a previous challenge, without clearly attributing that history solely to Prescott. The critical review reports months of unanswered contact attempts and unresolved concerns about living conditions. These are individual accounts from a selection, not a comprehensive analysis of the 1,400 Google reviews. The supplied overall rating is 4.6 out of 5.

I want to give a special shout-out to Sara Davis at The Prescott Companies for her outstanding assistance with coordinating parking permits for one of our tenants at 10418 Camito Rimini. Sara was incredibly responsive, professional, and helpful throughout the entire process. She provided clear information about both pickup and mailing options, included all the necessary details (office hours, location, timelines), and made the coordination seamless. Her quick responses and proactive communication made my job so much easier. It's refreshing to work with someone who genuinely cares about providing excellent service. Thank you, Sara, for your exceptional support! I highly recommend working with Sara Davis and The Prescott Companies for any HOA management needs.

I have been trying to get in contact with Philip and Adrian, managers of the HOA for my condo, for months. Absolute silence and no response. My home has become unlivable and they have refused to return my calls or emails. At this point I’m considering legal action. When you call the phone number give for both of them, a receptionist picks up and will not let you speak with anyone she just says she’ll take a message but nothing is ever done. Hey Prescott Mgt., if you even read this review at all… do NOT comment with your generic “please email us at…” because we all know you won’t respond. How about you reach out to me like I’ve been asking for months. You have my information. If you comment the generic response, we will know no one at Prescott even read this review.

Love working with Marilin on various things. Anytime I have a question or need help with something, she responds quickly and accurately. If only everyone had those skills. Thank you Marilin.

Our HOA has worked with several property managers over time, and consistency has often been a challenge due to frequent turnover. Recently, Mary Kelly joined as our new property manager at The Prescott Companies, An Associa® Company, and the difference has been immediately noticeable. Mary has been highly responsive, attentive, and proactive in her communication. She follows through, stays on top of details, and has already made a positive impact on how our community is supported. It’s refreshing to experience this level of professionalism and care. We truly appreciate her efforts and thank The Prescott Companies, An Associa® Company, for assigning Mary to our HOA.

I wanted to thank Chelsea Castro, our Alta Mar Property Manager, for her professionalism in intervening between a homeowner and board member during last evening's board meeting. I appreciate how Ms. Castro sensed how the conversation was going, stepped in and summarized the discussion, politely told the homeowner that she would review the homeowner's concerns, and then told the homeowner that the board had to move onto other business. Ms. Castro's decisiveness in this situation speaks well to her professionalism. I also appreciated her insights in other areas we discussed during the meeting. I look forward to continuing to work with her. Respectfully, Lynwood Lary
