Profile summary

Nomadic Real Estate at a glance

Nomadic Real Estate is a property management provider in Washington, DC. Its website describes the business as providing property management in DC since 2005; the supplied extract does not explicitly establish a founding date. The website also lists a 24-hour hotline. However, the supplied website text contains little descriptive information about the scope of services.

The selected Google reviews provide more specific insights. They describe management of a two-unit property, property viewings and preparations for letting a home. One owner also reports tenant screening and a signed lease. Another review mentions assistance with rent arrears and renewal of a DC business license, referred to as a BBL. These accounts document individual experiences rather than necessarily establishing what every management agreement includes.

The supplied Google data shows a rating of 4.2 out of 5 from 1,298 reviews. The selection includes praise for customer support and communication, as well as strong criticism of responsiveness and changes in account management.

Editorial context

Working with a provider in Washington – what matters

When choosing a property manager in Washington, DC, owners should first establish which tasks the specific agreement covers. The documented experiences with Nomadic Real Estate concern both letting properties and ongoing management. A written definition of responsibilities is therefore useful: Are property preparation, viewings, tenant screening and lease completion included in the agreed package, or are individual steps charged separately? The supplied sources do not include a fee schedule.

For ongoing management, designated contacts, cover arrangements and clear communication channels are important points to examine. The selected reviews describe differing experiences in these areas. Prospective clients should ask how changes in account management are announced, how enquiries are recorded and what response times are actually agreed. A 24-hour hotline listed on a website does not, by itself, establish how quickly a particular problem will be resolved.

Approval of property work also deserves attention. One review describes a choice between using a proposed contractor and arranging improvements independently. Owners should clarify in advance whether this option is generally available and what spending approvals are required.

For assistance with rent arrears or the BBL renewal mentioned in one review, responsibilities, deadlines and potential additional charges should be discussed explicitly. Individual customer experiences are not a substitute for a service agreement. These points provide general guidance and do not constitute legal advice.

Selected reviews on Google

The supplied selection of Google reviews repeatedly praises professional viewings, detailed answers and attentive customer support. Positive owner accounts also mention prompt communication, assistance with letting, and help with rent arrears and a BBL renewal. In contrast, one detailed critical tenant review describes poor responsiveness, frequent changes in account management without advance notice, problems with key handover and a security deposit refund that was still outstanding. Experiences of communication and support therefore differ. This is a selection, including some truncated texts, rather than a complete analysis of all 1,298 reviews. The supplied Google data gives an overall rating of 4.2 out of 5.

I had a wonderful experience viewing the townhouse Today. Desiree Burns, was extremely welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. She took the time to answer all of my questions and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire tour. You can truly tell that she is an expert at what she does. I really appreciate her warm personality and excellent customer service. Thank you for making the experience so pleasant.

Jose Gomez has been an outstanding account manager and successfully onboarded my new tenant with professionalism and efficiency. Prior to working with him, my property had remained vacant for nine months under another agency that seemed to lose interest in actively marketing and renting the property. Jose immediately provided me with a detailed and highly useful list of items needed to properly prepare the property for showings, complete with photos for reference. He gave me the flexibility to either approve their vendor to complete the work or handle the improvements myself. I chose to complete the work on my own and Jose was very prompt in reviewing the updates and ensuring everything was ready to move forward. Within just a couple of weeks, he had interviewed & screened a qualified tenant and secured a signed lease. I truly appreciated his responsiveness, patience, and the way he ke

Working with Kiante was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. If you’re searching for a rental in DC and want someone who truly goes above and beyond, look no further. From our very first conversation, she made the entire process feel effortless. Kiante took the time to really understand what we were looking for and matched us with a home that checked every box. The showing itself was fantastic — a thorough, thoughtful walkthrough where no detail was overlooked and every question we had was answered with ease. What really set Kiante apart was arranging a personal meeting with the owner. That kind of extra touch is rare, and it made such a difference! We got to hear firsthand about all the little quirks and character of the home, which gave us so much confidence going in. It felt less like a transaction and more like being welcomed into a community. Speaking of community, Kiante was

I’ve worked with Nomadic Real Estate for the past couple of years, they manage my two-unit property in Washington, DC. They’ve been consistently responsive, professional, and willing to go above and beyond. When a housing rent payment issue came up, they stayed on it, recovered all back rent, and handled the process with minimal effort required from me. They also helped me renew my DC BBL, guiding me through the steps, providing clear instructions, and stepping in to take action when my schedule didn’t allow me to. I truly appreciate their partnership and highly recommend their property management services.

If I had a friend who was thinking about renting from nomadic, my advice would be to run away as fast as possible. Unprofessional, unresponsive, poor management, high turnover rates. I lived in the same apartment for 18 months, during which time I had 4 (or maybe 5) property managers. They never bothered telling me when the account manager was changing either, they’d just wait until I reached out to tell me. From the very first day in my new apartment, when they failed to give me my keys and wouldn’t respond to my messages for 6 hours, to now, while I’m waiting for my security deposit and just learned that I have yet another account manager just for the return, ever single interaction I’ve ever had with nomadic has been unpleasant and far more difficult than necessary. Rent from literally anyone else!
