Editorial context
Working with a provider in Washington – what matters
When choosing a property manager in Washington, D.C., owners should first check whether the proposed service package suits their property type. Commercial premises, multifamily buildings, and individual rental homes have different leasing, operational, and accounting requirements. Since Longford Management lists these categories on its website, prospective clients should establish exactly which services would apply to their property. The precise geographic coverage within the metropolitan area should also be confirmed.
For financial administration, useful points to assess include clear owner statements, defined payment procedures, and spending approval arrangements. Given the company's stated use of AppFolio, owners can ask which documents they will be able to access, how frequently reports are produced, and how accounting queries are handled. The scope and cost of marketing, leasing, and tenant screening should likewise be recorded in writing.
Maintenance arrangements deserve separate attention. An in-house team and stated emergency availability do not replace clear agreements on responsibilities, spending limits, and documentation. For the response times advertised on the website, owners should clarify what qualifies as an emergency and how requests are tracked from receipt through completion.
The described “First 100 Days” process provides a basis for discussing handover documents, outstanding repairs, and specific objectives. Google reviews can offer additional perspectives, but they do not necessarily represent the management of every individual property. These considerations provide general guidance rather than legal advice.

Selected reviews on Google
The supplied Google data show a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 254 reviews. The provided selection contains both positive and critical accounts and should not be treated as the complete review record. Several positive reviews praise friendly, professional staff, prompt answers, and helpful support. One highlights a smooth move-in and the maintenance team's preparation of the apartment. Recurring themes in the critical accounts include alleged lack of responsiveness and unresolved or delayed problems. Individual reviewers also report pest issues, a package opened inside the building, difficulties with water bills, and a prolonged wait for repairs following a ceiling leak. These are reviewers' accounts, not independently verified findings.
I’ve lived here for only 3 months, and my experience has been consistently frustrating. Pest issues have gone unresolved despite multiple reports, and recently my delivered package was ripped open inside the building. I even have footage of the person responsible. Management has been unresponsive, and it feels like tenant concerns are not taken seriously. I’ve always paid rent on time and never caused disturbances, yet my safety and comfort are clearly not a priority here. I cannot recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a reliable, safe, and well-managed place to live.
My move-in process was smooth and stress-free thanks to Karen and Miguel. Karen, the property manager, was friendly, professional, and made sure everything was handled quickly. Miguel from maintenance was also very helpful, making sure everything in the apartment was ready and in great condition before I moved in. They both made a great first impression, and I really appreciate their excellent customer service!
I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the outstanding customer service consistently provided by Karen and Miguel. It is always a pleasure interacting with them, as they combine a friendly attitude with a high level of professionalism.
If you are a renter or owner looking at Longford Management, I've been a tenant of theirs for 3.5 years and am here to tell you to steer clear! I've been a renter in DC for over a decade and I've truly never seen such a disorganized, non-responsive, irresponsible, and, frankly, negligent operation. A few non-exhaustive examples include: 1) Three times in 2.5 years they have missed water bills to the point the water was almost shut off. They refuse to provide copies of the bills each month. (If you own a Longford property, note this is an issue if water is in your name!) In these cases, late fees were passed to me and then I had to struggle to get fees removed. Their accounting practices are completely unacceptable for any reputable company. 2) It took over 4 months to get a ceiling leak repaired. The repair happened and they painted the ceiling eventually, but no real repair/mold resolut
Wardell at Longford Management is incredible! From start to finish, he was personable, trustworthy, and extremely efficient. He answered all of my questions clearly and quickly, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. It’s rare to come across someone so reliable and easy to work with—Wardell is a true professional. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for great service!
