Editorial context
Working with a provider in New York – what matters
When selecting a property manager in New York, owners should first establish whether the provider's experience matches the building's use and organizational structure. The multifamily buildings, condominiums, co-ops, mixed-use properties, and commercial buildings listed by Choice New York Management have different requirements for coordination, resident communication, and daily operations. Prospective clients should therefore ask about comparable managed properties and the specific team proposed for their building.
Another consideration is the scope of services. Since Choice offers management, building staffing, and brokerage services within its group, a proposal should identify which entity will perform each task. It should also distinguish included services from separately charged work. For concierge, doorman, superintendent, or cleaning services, clients should discuss coverage hours, replacement arrangements, and staff supervision.
The website's statement of round-the-clock availability should not be treated as a guaranteed response or repair deadline. Useful questions concern emergency procedures, responsibilities, progress updates, and the tracking of unresolved requests. For preventive maintenance, clients should clarify which systems are checked, how frequently inspections occur, and how necessary work is authorized.
Owners and boards should also consider the scope and clarity of financial reporting, budgeting, and billing review. Fees, additional charges, contract duration, and handover procedures should be clarified in writing before an appointment. These points provide general guidance rather than legal advice.

I've lived at The Jackson for several years and have had a great experience. The building is consistently well maintained, the common areas are kept clean, communication is clear, and maintenance requests are handled quickly. It's clear that there is a lot of attention paid to making sure residents have a positive experience. But what really makes The Jackson stand out, though, is the team. Justino has been incredibly helpful from my move-in through various repairs and projects over the years. He has always been responsive, knowledgeable, and willing to help. Most recently, he assisted with replacing my HVAC unit, making what could have been a stressful process remarkably smooth. Whether it's a small question or a larger issue, I know I can count on him to help get things resolved. I've lived in many buildings over the years, and I've learned that the people running the building matter
I’ve had a great experience with the management team, Hillary and Mikael, at my new apartment building. From the very beginning, they have been incredibly helpful, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Any time I had questions, they provided clear and timely answers, which made the entire process feel smooth and stress-free. Their professionalism and willingness to assist really stood out, and it made transitioning into my new home a seamless experience. It’s reassuring to know that the management team is approachable and reliable. I truly appreciate their support and would highly recommend this building based on the excellent service I’ve received.
Amir, our property manager and the rest of the team at Choice (Drew and Liridon) are outstanding. We receive communications and updates on matters big and small. They always respond to my emails within a few hours. It has been a while, but when we first moved in, they were very easy to work with and very agile with last minute changes. They make it very easy to work with them. They also ensure that our building is staffed with top notch personnel. We think they are doing a wonderful job and would recommend if you are looking for a property manager.
Crystal was incredibly helpful, responsive, and professional throughout our apartment purchase process. She made everything feel organized and smooth, kept us updated every step of the way, and was always available to answer questions quickly. We really appreciated her support and would highly recommend working with her and the team at Choice NY Management.
Everything was smooth sailing with my experience with Choice NY. Leah was outstanding throughout the entire process. She was professional, responsive, and incredibly easy to communicate with. What impressed me most was how quickly she responded to questions and concerns. Not only were her replies prompt, but everything we discussed that needed attention was handled efficiently and completed in a timely manner. It's clear that she takes pride in providing excellent customer service and following through on commitments.
