Editorial context
Working with a provider in Roma – what matters
Anyone appointing a real estate agent for a stay of several months in Rome should first match the rental period, location and service scope to their needs. For Pompei Realty, the stated three-to-18-month rental periods and furnished apartments are particularly relevant. Before deciding, prospective tenants should obtain written confirmation of availability, the minimum rental term and possible extensions for the specific property.
For furnished apartments, it is worth checking not only photographs and location but also the inventory, condition and working order of the equipment. Pre-installed utilities do not automatically mean that all consumption costs are included in the rent. Rent, deposit, agency fees, utilities and any additional service charges should therefore be requested separately. A documented handover report can help establish the property's initial condition.
Since the provider advertises a handyman service, responsibilities should also be clarified: who receives maintenance reports, which services are included and how are urgent repairs arranged? The “UN break clause” mentioned on the website should be explained in terms of eligibility and its specific contractual provisions; the label alone does not establish its scope.
International tenants should also check which languages are available for viewings, contract discussions and ongoing support. For a property purchase, the scope of the buyer’s-agent service should be agreed separately, including fees and its distinction from independent technical or legal checks. These points provide general guidance and do not replace individual legal advice.

We recently rented a house in Rome through Pompei Realty and had an excellent experience from start to finish. After contacting them through their website, we were put in touch with Alp, who was incredibly friendly, professional, responsive and accommodating throughout the entire process. As foreigners relocating to Rome, having someone who spoke excellent English, communicated promptly and guided us through every step made a huge difference. When we had more detailed questions, Alp was also happy to put us directly in touch with the Pompei founder Dimitri, who took the time to address our concerns personally. That level of accessibility and care really stood out to us. We are also very happy with the apartment itself. It was handed over in excellent condition and was genuinely ready to move into. Everything was in working order, and thoughtful touches such as the bedding and towels bei
We rented a lovely apartment through Pompei Realty and had a great experience. The team was always responsive whenever we had any questions and made our time in Rome much easier. Thank you for taking such good care of us—we would happily recommend them!
I had an excellent experience renting through Pompei Realty SRLS, and I would especially like to recognize Alexandra for her outstanding professionalism and support. From the beginning, she was always responsive, respectful, and highly efficient in assisting me with every matter related to the apartment. Whenever I needed help or had questions regarding the property, Alexandra handled everything quickly and effectively. Her communication was excellent, and she consistently followed up to make sure all matters were resolved properly. As a foreign tenant who does not speak Italian, I truly appreciated her ability to assist me in English so clearly and professionally, which made the entire rental experience smooth and stress-free. The apartment itself was excellent: clean, well-equipped, in a great location, and exactly as presented. I highly recommend Pompei Realty SRLS, especially if
Avoid this agency at all costs, I’m giving one star because I can’t give zero!!!! They are completely dishonest, expensive and inefficient, they offer services but they never provide them. First water boiler not working, the agency never did anything about it, my son and nephew were staying there, as both students, they had to solve it themselves When my son made it work, the property manager Alexandra, who never showed up actually sent them a link for a “good review “, supposedly this is how they get their good review….. making tenants resolve the issues!!! Other issues were never solved with the sewer system that caused sewage smell in the entire apartment. Mold issues . Air conditioning never worked. Do not trust them especially for your kids if they’re staying in Rome for short stays as safety is not a priority. The most unacceptable and alarming fact is that The property manager, i
I had a very positive experience with Pompei Immobiliare during my apartment search in Rome. From the beginning, Federica was extremely helpful, professional, and patient in answering all my questions and guiding me through the rental process. I had many doubts and needed clear information about the contract, costs, and procedures. Federica took the time to explain everything carefully and provided all the necessary documents and details, which made the process much easier and gave me confidence. The communication was excellent, and I truly appreciated the transparency, kindness, and professionalism shown throughout the process. I highly recommend Pompei Immobiliare to anyone looking for a reliable agency in Rome.

Services in this field explained
A valuation estimates the price a property can achieve on the market, based on location, condition, size, fittings and comparable sales.
What does a valuation cost? Many agents offer an initial estimate free of charge. A formal market value report by a certified surveyor is paid; the fee depends on the property and effort.
When you sell, an agent handles valuation, exposé, viewings, negotiation and the notary appointment.
Who pays the agent's commission? When flats and single-family houses are sold to consumers, the commission is generally split between seller and buyer (§ 656c German Civil Code).
When letting, an agent takes care of listing, viewings, tenant selection and the tenancy agreement.
Who pays the agent when letting? Since 2015 the “orderer pays” principle applies to residential lettings: usually the landlord pays when they hired the agent.
