Editorial context
Working with a provider in Yonkers – what matters
When choosing a property manager in Yonkers, first establish whether the company serves the particular building and its ownership structure. Newgent identifies mid-sized co-operative and condominium communities as its focus. Prospective clients should therefore ask which building sizes this covers and whether the proposed management model suits their community. The website mentions the greater New York area, but describes several services specifically in a New York City context. A Yonkers property therefore calls for explicit confirmation of coverage and the available scope of work.
For governance-focused management, responsibilities should be clear. A proposal should distinguish the board’s role, the manager’s authority and the communication channels available to individual owners and residents. It is also useful to agree on how complaints will be recorded, decisions explained and unresolved matters followed up.
Documented service areas include financial management, maintenance, capital improvements and vendor oversight. Before appointing a manager, clients can discuss sample reports, spending approvals and repair procedures. During a management transition, existing agreements, payment balances and outstanding matters should be documented, transferred and reconciled.
The listed NYC compliance services should not automatically be treated as applicable in Yonkers. Relevant reporting duties and technical requirements need to be checked for the specific property. Finally, the proposal should clearly set out standard fees, additional services, digital access and reporting schedules. These are practical selection considerations, not a substitute for legal review.

Selected reviews on Google
The supplied Google data shows 4.9 out of 5 from 854 reviews. The five available reviews are a selection and are not necessarily representative of all feedback. Positive comments highlight professional service, responsiveness and straightforward handling of requests. Critical comments mainly concern financial disputes and complaint handling. Reviewers describe disputed charges following a management transition, problems with a security deposit refund and decisions perceived as favoring a board. One review also reports unanswered communications during a dispute. These statements reflect the reviewers’ personal experiences and allegations; no independent verification is available.
They took over a lease I had on an apartment rental. I had made an agreement with the previous management that I could deduct a heater repair that I had paid for from next month's rent, as well as deducting wire transfer fees from the rent payment since they didn't provide an option to pay without a fee. After leaving the unit, they claimed that I owed them the money for the wire transfer fees and the heating repair, since according to them I had made the agreement with the previous management and not them. Not to mention, they also tried to claim I owed them $7000 after moving out (which was just completely wrong, they literally just did the math wrong and didn't realize I had paid them a month's rent), which nearly gave me a heart attack. Furthermore they kept on trying to make appointments with me to visit the unit after I had moved out. Definitely avoid.
This management company is terrible and they don't care for condo owners at all. They side with the board members and hear no one else's side. What I thought would be a good experience quickly turned bad when I followed all the rules and regulations, and because the board member had a disagreement with me, she decided to have violations imposed on me. No matter all the proof I had this management company did not listen and continued to charge me the violation anyway. They then started to ignore my emails and calls. This board member has threatened me to the point I do not feel safe in my home and I decided to put a Ring camera for my safety To make matters worse Newgent management sent me an email to remove my Ring camera if not they with give me a violation for it. The harassment and disrespect and discrimination for being part of the lGBTQ community continues.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS All of these reviews for this company have to be FAKE. This has to be the WORST property management company in NYC. However appealing the low rent may be, at the end of the day IT IS NOT WORTH IT! 2 years in one of their buildings was more than enough and I still haven't received my security deposit 3 months later (even though the Super and building ownership assured I would get it). THEY EVEN SENT ME A CHECK THAT BOUNCED. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I have had the honor to deal with Newgent for quite some time now and every time its been smooth. Cristhian is always on top of her game for every request which makes it even easier. I highly suggest working with them.
I've been extremely satisfied with the management services provided by Newgent. From the moment I engaged with them, they've been professional, responsive, and proactive in addressing any concerns or issues that arise. Their team goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly, and their attention to detail is commendable. I highly recommend Newgent Management to anyone in need of top-notch property management services.
