Editorial context
Working with a provider in Brookline – what matters
When choosing a property manager in Brookline, owners should first compare their requirements with the services actually offered. Kingston Real Estate & Management explicitly lists monthly reporting, rent collection, leasing and repairs. These descriptions provide a starting point but do not replace a detailed scope of services. Questions worth asking include what the monthly reports contain, how rent payments are documented and which tasks are handled when finding a new tenant.
A particularly important distinction is between responding to individual repair requests and planning preventive maintenance. Prospective clients should ask about procedures for reporting defects, responsibility for follow-up, spending approval thresholds and records of completed work. Availability for urgent problems and potential additional charges also need clarification. The supplied sources provide no further details on these points.
Because the company offers rentals and sales alongside management, owners should establish which services are included in a management agreement and which require separate arrangements. For a Brookline property, actual local coverage and experience with comparable buildings are useful discussion topics.
The selected Google reviews mainly concern apartment searches, while one critical review specifically addresses building maintenance. Positive experiences with rental brokerage should therefore not automatically be treated as evidence about every aspect of property management. Concrete questions about the proposed management process, together with a written overview of services, fees and responsibilities, can help owners assess the offer.

In the provided selection, several reviewers praise personal support during apartment searches, prompt responses and a willingness to answer questions. These comments reflect individual experiences from a selection rather than the full body of reviews; the positive accounts also mainly concern brokerage services.
Even though I did not end up getting a place with this company, Taylor H worked really hard to get us a place and I think that is worth noting. I felt, as we worked with him to find a place best fitted for us, he made sure we were a priority expecially after we signed with a landlord that went back on his word and took us out of the lease, where Taylor fought to get us that, and after different places. He was quick responding to all questions about any place, was informative and friendly to all. We are all very thankful for his hardwork and recommend him to anyone looking for a place in or outside of Boston.
From Renter to Owner- Years and years ago, I moved to Boston from Ohio with zero local knowledge and no idea what I was doing. Adam was my Broker then, and he made an out of state, Midwesterner feel like she actually had a plan. Turns out he's from the Midwest too, and that shared background made everything feel a little more personal from the start. Over the years, Adam went so far beyond "find apartment." He helped me navigate a genuinely difficult roommate situation with patience and good advice. He was always on top of apartment issues before they became bigger problems. And honestly, he's just always been a message away whether I had a quick question or needed real advice. He made time for it, even years after I'd signed a lease. By the time I was ready to buy my first home in 2023, I wasn't just working with a Broker/Realtor, I was working with someone who'd spent years earning
Kingston provides subpar support regarding building maintenance for current tenants. No part of the property is proactively maintained and whenever issues arise, they are met with bandaid solutions or not addressed at all. Kingston needs to do better in gaining the trust and respect of their building tenants who are paying a lot of money for a building that is not properly maintained.
Genuinely the best realtor experience I could imagine: the attention to detail, the neighborhood knowledge, the willingness to go above and beyond. We worked with Emily Shewchuk and she was the friendliest and most helpful, even helping us get hooked up with off-street parking (which is a whole thing in Brookline). 10/10, would definitely seek out to work with again.
Realtor Emily Shewchuk made navigating Boston and finding the right apartment easy and low-stress! She was warm and welcoming the entire time, was always there to answer our questions, and even set up a goodie basket for when we moved in! I would recommend working with her to anyone in the Boston area!
