Editorial context
Working with a provider in New York – what matters
When choosing a real estate broker in New York, first establish whether the assigned agent’s experience matches the neighborhood and property type you are considering. Hillel Realty Group provides a broad geographic search and both residential and commercial listings. However, a selectable area or property category does not by itself establish current availability or experience with a particular project. Prospective clients should ask about comparable properties and the proposed process.
For renters, a complete budget, intended move-in date and required application documents are useful starting points. The website displays listings marked “No Fee,” as well as incentives involving free months and the abbreviation “NER.” Before deciding, clarify the regular monthly rent, how concessions are calculated and which payments are due at the start of the lease. Confirm the conditions and duration of any incentive directly.
For purchases, consider ongoing monthly expenses, property type and available documentation separately from the purchase price. Since the search combines company and MLS listings, it is also worth asking who lists a property and what role Hillel Realty Group would play in the transaction.
For commercial properties or property management, discuss the service scope, responsibilities, fees and suitability for the intended purpose in detail. Reviews can offer indications about communication, but they do not replace checking the agreed services. These points provide general guidance rather than legal advice.

Hillel Realty Group did an awesome job helping me find an apartment! I worked with Nicole Velez and she was super friendly and very accommodating with my schedule. She made the process very easy and when I wanted to put down a deposit, she was happy to wait for me to run to the bank and gather everything I needed - she even grabbed me a coffee! When I read through the lease Nicole explained any questions I had and made sure I was comfortable with everything. Definitely recommend : )
Working with Hillel Realty Group was an amazing experience. I have never had the pleasure of working with such caring and devoted people. Nicolas Gutierrez was our agent and he was phenomenal to work with. Nicolas was always very attentive to what we wanted in our new living space. He asked many questions so that he was sure of what we wanted. When we finally agreed on everything he got to work straight away on finding something for us. He focused on looking at apartments for us and found us many great places under all of our interests. He was very punctual when showing us apartments and was beyond polite. He always kept us in the loop when it came to talking about apartments coming into the market. Ultimately it was a fantastic experience, it helped us to learn the business of finding an apartment, and we would happily recommend working with Nicolas and Hillel Realty Group.

Services in this field explained
A valuation estimates the price a property can achieve on the market, based on location, condition, size, fittings and comparable sales.
What does a valuation cost? Many agents offer an initial estimate free of charge. A formal market value report by a certified surveyor is paid; the fee depends on the property and effort.
When you sell, an agent handles valuation, exposé, viewings, negotiation and the notary appointment.
Who pays the agent's commission? When flats and single-family houses are sold to consumers, the commission is generally split between seller and buyer (§ 656c German Civil Code).
When letting, an agent takes care of listing, viewings, tenant selection and the tenancy agreement.
Who pays the agent when letting? Since 2015 the “orderer pays” principle applies to residential lettings: usually the landlord pays when they hired the agent.
