Freedom Homes Architects at a glance
Freedom Homes Architects is a residential architectural practice working across London and the surrounding areas. Its documented specialisms include house extensions and loft conversions. On the website, managing director Philip Jennings identifies 2017 as the year he established the company. The practice states that its design work is led by an architect registered with RIBA and ARB.

It prepares planning documents and handles the submission and management of planning and building control applications. Additional services listed on the website include structural calculations, interior design, build over agreements and party wall notices.
For extensions and loft conversions, Freedom Homes publishes separate starting prices for planning and design packages and building regulations documentation. Each design package includes two plan revisions. Editorial context
Working with a provider in London – what matters
When appointing an architect for a house extension or loft conversion in London, homeowners should first establish which project stages the quotation covers. Design development, planning permission, technical documentation for building control and support during construction are distinct tasks. Any package described as comprehensive should therefore be checked against a detailed scope of services. For Freedom Homes, the separately listed planning and design packages, building regulations packages and additional design-and-build offering are particularly relevant.
Early planning requires a reliable measured survey, a clear understanding of the intended use of the space and consideration of the existing structure. Loft conversions require particular attention to structural design, stair access and fire safety. Extensions may also involve coordination concerning shared walls and existing sewers. The listed structural calculations, party wall notices and build over agreements relate to these interfaces. The documents actually needed must be established for the individual project; this is not legal advice.
Clients should also discuss whether planning permission is required or whether permitted development may apply. Neither route should be treated as a blanket assurance of approval.
When comparing quotations, important points include the number of revisions, additional specialist input, application fees, VAT and responsibilities during construction. As Freedom Homes lists two plan revisions within its published design packages, prospective clients should ask how further changes are handled. Written agreement on contacts, timescales and progress updates is also advisable.

We’ve had a really positive experience working with Freedom Homes from start to finish. It’s a complex process, but Cameron, Philip and Nicholas have all been clear, responsive and easy to deal with throughout. The designs have been well thought through, and they’ve been open to questions and changes as we’ve gone along, which has made a big difference. Communication has been consistent, and we’ve always known where things stood. Overall, it’s made what could have been quite a daunting process feel much more manageable, and we’ve appreciated the support the whole way through.
We went to Freedom Homes for help when our garden room project needed planning permission. They were very helpful from the start, before we even signed them. They clearly explained the process to us and following our agreement were quick to deliver the architectural drawings and submit our application. We were very impressed with the timeliness of the communication and the efficiency of the entire process. Thanks very much for getting us over the line. Especially to Cameron, Nicholas, and Rebecca!
We had an excellent experience working with Freedom Homes from start to finish. They were professional, creative, and really took the time to understand our vision and needs. Communication was always clear and responsive, and they guided us confidently through every stage of the project. I would highly recommend them to anyone
Building work is certainly a long term grill. Freedom homes were great from the start of the process. Philip was very patient with my queries and walked me through the entire process. Cameron and Nick were great to bombard ideas to come up with the most efficient design. There was a period of no activity which made me bit nervous but was soon rectified by Freedom homes. Great team to work with. Very reasonable, affordable and great talent to work with. Highly recommended
Freedom Home architects have been helpful and efficient throughout the planning stage of our extension. We found our initial consultation with Philip very helpful as he gave some sound advice on a couple of decisions we had been struggling to make. Throughout the rest of the process all emails and questions have been answered promptly and we received planning permission through without issue.
