Editorial context
Working with a provider in Calgary – what matters
When appointing a real estate agent in Calgary, start by establishing what support your particular transaction requires. A first-time purchase, a condominium sale and a subsequent house purchase involve different needs for guidance, scheduling and coordination. Since the reviews of BRIX Real Estate Group describe several of these situations, it is useful to ask about experience with comparable properties and transaction sequences.
For buyers, important considerations include an agreed search brief, a realistic financing budget and a clearly explained assessment of suitable listings. With condominiums, ongoing fees, available building documentation and potential additional expenses should be considered alongside the purchase price. Discuss in advance which documents the agent will explain and when other specialists may be needed.
For sellers, the rationale behind the asking price, property preparation and the scope of marketing are useful points of comparison. If staging and property videos are proposed, clarify responsibilities, deliverables and any additional costs. Their mention in customer reviews does not establish that they are included in every engagement.
With a team-based service, also ask who your main contact will be, how absences are covered and which communication channels will be used. Fees, agreed services and the timetable should be transparent before an appointment is made. Google ratings can offer insight into customer experiences, but they do not replace a direct conversation or a review of the specific proposal.

As a first-time home buyer, I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with! The whole experience felt really personal and I always felt like they cared about finding the right place for me. When it came time to negotiate, I felt very confident having their team in my corner - they knew what they were doing and helped me navigate everything without feeling overwhelmed. I also loved that they truly work as a team. When Sydney and Reilly were away, Emily stepped in and picked everything up seamlessly. They made buying my first home such a good experience. I would 100% recommend them to any of my friends looking to buy or sell! 🤍🥹
Choosing BRIX Real Estate Group was an excellent decision for us. Reilly had great and timely communication. He followed through on all his commitments. He has a very good understanding of the Calgary housing market and the value of the houses. Reilly, Sydney (marketing) and Donalea (staging) told us what to do to prepare our home to maximize the value, they are a great team. The media video was professionally done, it looked incredible and had almost 15,000 views. The staging was the cherry on top; our house never looked that good! And at the end, Reilly masterfully negotiated on our behalf. Highly recommend this team.
Working with BRIX Real Estate Group was an ‘all hands on deck’ experience! What makes them different is how they truly work as a team, with each person bringing their own strengths and expertise. That collaboration made the entire process feel seamless and gave us confidence every step of the way. Everyone was professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping us find the right home for our daughter. You can tell they care about their clients, not just the transaction. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and trustworthy real estate team, I highly recommend BRIX Real Estate Group!
We used Brix Real Estate (Reilly and Sydney) this spring and summer to sell our condo and purchase our new home. The experience was wonderful from the start - Reilly and Sydney came to our condo to meet with us and were able to tell us about their whole plan and process for selling and then for buying. They were wonderful human beings who radiated happiness and competence and they put my partner and I immediately at ease. It's clear they've invested heavily in their learning and knowledge around all aspects of condo and home sales/purchasing. On the selling aspect - Reilly and Sydney were incredible. They created wonderful content including an amazing listing video that almost made us want to keep the condo after watching it. They provided a staging expert who left us with all kinds of great advice for decluttering, decorating, and staging the condo. When it came time to list and show,
Reilly and Sydney are phenomenal. They were so helpful and encouraging. Showed us great options and worked very hard to get us a great price . They are helping navigate all the paperwork and situations involved in our purchase. My daughter and I have purchased the perfect home for us with their help .

Services in this field explained
A valuation estimates the price a property can achieve on the market, based on location, condition, size, fittings and comparable sales.
What does a valuation cost? Many agents offer an initial estimate free of charge. A formal market value report by a certified surveyor is paid; the fee depends on the property and effort.
When you sell, an agent handles valuation, exposé, viewings, negotiation and the notary appointment.
Who pays the agent's commission? When flats and single-family houses are sold to consumers, the commission is generally split between seller and buyer (§ 656c German Civil Code).
When letting, an agent takes care of listing, viewings, tenant selection and the tenancy agreement.
Who pays the agent when letting? Since 2015 the “orderer pays” principle applies to residential lettings: usually the landlord pays when they hired the agent.
