Editorial context

Working with a provider in Lisboa – what matters

Anyone seeking energy advice in Lisboa should first distinguish between tariff advice and technical building consultancy. Selectra's documented services include bill analysis, electricity and gas comparisons, and assistance with contract administration. Customers who need a building's energy performance assessed or are planning renovation work should first establish whether the relevant technical services are offered at all.

For tariff advice, it is useful to have a recent bill and information about personal consumption available. A comparison should consider not just individual advertised prices but the expected total cost for the customer's consumption profile. Contract duration, temporary discounts, additional services and switching conditions should also be explained clearly. When a comparison service is described as free, it is worth asking which providers are included and how the service is funded. The stated data sources alone do not answer these questions.

When moving into a property, customers should clarify who submits documents to the supplier, which steps remain outstanding and when supply can be expected to start. A documented confirmation of progress can help prevent misunderstandings. The supplied review selection includes both praise for clear explanations and a complaint about document forwarding. Reviews may therefore provide useful indications of the process, but they do not replace specific confirmation of responsibilities and timing for an individual request.

Selected reviews on Google

Across the supplied selection of Google reviews, recurring positive themes include clear explanations, friendly or professional assistance, and answers to contract questions. Individual reviewers highlight help with unfamiliar procedures and setting up services. One positive review explicitly leaves the quality of subsequent follow-up open. A critical review, by contrast, alleges that documents were not forwarded, information already supplied was requested again, and electricity provision was consequently delayed around a move-in date. These allegations cannot be independently verified from the material, and the review text is truncated. These comments come from a selection rather than all 3,660 reviews. The supplied overall Google rating is 4.9 out of 5.

Rafa presented the providers, and led me through the contracts and required visits to get everything up and running. He was friendly, patient, and available - and saved me the stress of bumbling through unfamiliar processes. A great service!

On Tuesday we sent all required documents for getting electricity to Selectra. They even told us that they sent everything to Repsol that same day. If they did this, we would have had electricity by Saturday (our move in day) at the latest. We have just learned that they did not send anything to Repsol and now because of this mistake/incompetence we are moving into an apartment with zero electricity tomorrow and that we can expect electricity by Tuesday. This is beyond unacceptable as they had communicated one thing to us, which turns out was a lie. Because of this, I'm now going to have to buy battery packs, wash clothing at a laundry place for an extra cost, shower at friend's houses/at work, candles for lighting etc. Update1: They were on the phone again today asking for our CPE...we had given this already twice before. The incompetency is genuinely staggering Update 2: We were o

Attendants are very professional and resolved all my questions. I was extremely comfortable to sign the contract after that (considering that I'm from a foreign country, with other regulations).
