Editorial context
Working with a provider in Paris – what matters
When commissioning energy consultancy in Paris, first establish whether you need an initial assessment, a programme of measures or implementation as well. For a provider such as Green Energy Service, which combines consultancy, financing and installation, a written distinction between these services is particularly useful. The proposal should specify which assessments, calculations, equipment and works are included and which require a separate commission.
For its documented areas of lighting, building controls, energy management and photovoltaics, projected savings should be explained transparently. Relevant points include baseline consumption, operating hours, technical assumptions and how results will be monitored. Financial projections are easier to assess when investment costs, ongoing costs and potential financing support are shown separately.
For projects involving energy savings certificates or other financing arrangements, prospective customers should clarify responsibilities, documentation, deadlines and any customer contribution in writing beforehand. Expected support should not be treated as confirmed financing. References to Décret Tertiaire, BACS or APER should prompt a check of which requirements apply to the particular building; this general guidance is not a legal assessment.
The scope and validity of qualifications relevant to the proposed works should also be clear. As the supplied reviews describe differing experiences with responsiveness and processing, named contacts, documented progress updates and an agreed timetable are useful topics for the initial discussion.
