Editorial context
Working with a provider in Woburn – what matters
Anyone seeking energy consulting in Woburn should first distinguish between solar-specific advice and a comprehensive assessment of a building’s energy consumption. For Boston Solar, the sources primarily document photovoltaic system design and installation. Whether its services also cover the building envelope, heating or other areas of consumption should be established through a direct inquiry using the contact form.
For a solar project, customers should be able to understand the assumptions behind the proposed design. These include existing electricity consumption, usable roof space, shading and expected electricity production. Customer accounts reproduced on the website describe explanations of system designs and consideration of different sunlight and shading conditions. For an individual property, it is sensible to request written calculation assumptions together with a clear scope of services and costs.
Responsibilities also need attention: who coordinates installation, required inspections and communication with the local utility? Individual reviews describe this kind of project support, but they do not replace a contractual scope of work. The website associates different communities with utilities and information about SMART incentives. This does not establish eligibility for a particular project; current requirements should be checked individually.
Finally, the system warranty, production guarantee and subsequent service arrangements should be considered separately. Given the differing warranty terms on the website, written conditions are particularly important. Customers should also clarify service contacts, procedures for equipment failures and potential post-installation costs before signing. The supplied reviews include both positive accounts of support and criticism of delayed warranty handling.

Selected reviews on Google
The supplied Google data reports a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 1,360 reviews. Recurring themes in the provided selection include clear advice, professional and prompt installation, and good communication during the project. Several customers describe a straightforward process; individual reviewers praise support with inspections and utility coordination. In contrast, one critical review reports a delay of more than a year in replacing a panel the customer says remained under warranty, along with a missed technician appointment without notification. Some positive reviews were written shortly after installation or activation and therefore provide limited insight into long-term operation. This summary reflects a selection rather than all Google reviews.
Boston Solar made our install experience completely smooth and simple. Greg V. was our rep and held our hand through the whole process. Every other company made things too complicated so we never moved forward. But we couldnt be happier dealing with the team here. 10/10 would recommend. Ask for Greg!
I recently had Boston Solar install a solar system/panels at my home and was very satisfied. My neighbor recommended them and the whole experience was very professional from beginning to end. The team was very professional, knowledgeable, attentive and responsive. The panels look great and the installation was quick and easy. Looking forward to seeing the benefits shortly as our system has just become active! I would recommend Boston Solar to anyone looking to go with a solar system in Massachusetts.
I had a great sales experience with Boston Solar when I purchased my system back in 2017. However; I have now been given the run around for over a year regarding the replacement of one panel that’s still under warranty. A tech was supposed to come out today to replace my panel and never arrived. No call, no show! Boston Solar is clearly only worried about their bottom line and not earning customers and positive word of mouth sales. What’s the next step? Better Business Bureau or Media.
So did some pretty extensive research and contacted several solar companies that wanted my business. In the end I selected Boston Solar because they are a local company with 1000's of local installs, their sales rep was fantastic and had a more in depth understanding of how to navigate our local infrastructure, rebates, etc. , and they provide 100% of the installation service and servicing of the system. Once I selected them they assigned me a project manager that has navigated the entire install, inspections and ultimately my 'turn on' with my local electric company. Their installers came yesterday, they were efficient, professional and followed all my direction as to location of pipes etc. and were done in one day. So I would highly recommend this company if you are thinking about going solar in the Boston area.
I just had my installation with Boston Solar- it went perfectly. Chris and his team were communicative, neat and extremely polite. My whole experience thus far has been very positive. Dillon the first person I spoke with was very knowledgeable, and I felt like he was providing information rather than selling me a system. I will wait now for the city inspection but I will be live with solar in no time. So glad I went with Boston Solar.
